Who Are the Athletic Boosters?

The Channahon Athletic Boosters are a parent sponsor organization that works in conjunction with the Channahon District 17 School Board in providing the District’s children with the best athletic experience possible.

This organization provides the program “sizzle” while the school board provides the “steak” in serving our children’s athletic needs.

We provide many of the “extras” which add to our children’s athletic experience, such as;

• Concessions (stocking and selling)
• New Uniforms and Warm-ups
• Team Awards & Celebrations
• New Technology
• Specialized Equipment
• Select Spirit Wear
• Vehicle Decals

We believe that parental involvement and participation in the District Athletic Program is essential to help ensure our children have a rewarding and memorable school athletic experience.

Our largest revenue source is the annual Channahon/Minooka Athletic Booster Golf Tournament Fundraiser held each summer at Heritage Bluffs Golf Course.

• Pitching machine for baseball and softball
• New volleyball net for 6th grade volleyball
• New popcorn machines for Three Rivers and CJHS
• Timer/Clock/Buzzer for TRS Scholastics and Math Team (split with PTO)
• Wrestling scoreboard and stand
• State Final shirts and plaques for Cross Country, Wrestling, and Track

• Join the Athletic Boosters – a $15 annual donation to become a member
• Please renew your annual membership if it has expired
• Help us determine how best to spend Booster money for maximum impact and benefit
• Give any member of the Athletic Booster Team your ideas and suggestions
• Attend our monthly Athletic Booster Meeting - TBA in the Indian Newsletter and News You Can Use

Parents of younger children!
If your children are not yet in Middle School or the Jr. High, you are still welcome and encouraged to join the Boosters. It’s a great way to find out what is available for your children, and an opportunity to meet the Athletic Director, School Principals and many coaches before your children actually start attending each school. It is also a great opportunity to provide real input and ensure that your child will have access to a top notch Athletic Programs when they are old enough to participate.
