| Ask Dr. Math - Ask Dr. Math is a Math Forum Project that is maintained by Swarthmore College. It is an excellent website for parents, teachers, and especially children. The Math Forum home page is divided by grade level and is designed to answer K-12 math questions. Parents and mathematics teachers can also benefit from this site's forum by asking questions regarding new methods, teaching techniques, innovative curriculums, and math education concerns. Education Planet - Education Planet features educator-approved resources and services for teachers, parents, and students. Teachers don't forget to check out the Teacher Web Tools suite. Education World - Search a database of over 120,000+ education-related sites including lesson plans and articles. GEM Gateway to Educational Materials - Access to high quality Internet lesson plans, curriculum units and other education resources. Illinois Science Teachers Association - The mission of the Illinois Science Teachers Association is to provide proactive leadership that will improve science education by promoting effective classroom practices, supporting sustained professional development opportunities, facilitating communication, collaboration and networking opportunities, and advocating for the needs of science teachers. Illinois State Board of Education - The Illinois State Board of Education provides a wealth of information for educators. Especially useful is the Illinois State Assessment information which includes subject area information for math, reading, writing, science, and social studies. National Board for Professional Teaching Standards - Many resources for every level of educator. National Council for Social Studies - An information service for social studies educators. National Council of Teachers of Math - NCTM members have taken the lead in changing mathematics education for the better. Check out the Teacher's Corner for professional development opportunities, resources, and more. Scholastic.com - lesson plans, reproducibles, and professional resources too! These resources have been recommended by the U.S. Department of Education for all teachers. |
